Blech.

I have finally found a vegetable more minging than peas.

CELERY.

I tried some last night in the process of chopping it up for our chilli con carne and it's FOUL. It tastes as bad as it smells. I was expecting it to taste more oniony, I think. I could still taste it 10 minutes after spitting it out. Ptooey.

Thankfully after an hour of boiling in associated meat and vegetable juices, it didn't actually taste of anything. :)

Did some Christmas shopping last night and got a few things for people, so that's something. I'm hoping to make a dent in the rest of it next Wednesday, though.

I bought it specifically for use in recipes which required it, and figured I might as well try it in the rare event I liked it and could munch on it when peckish...

I still don't actually like lettuce, but it's in the same camp as sprounds - I'll eat it if it's there.

I'm wondering what on earth there could be in celery which your body would crave, especially when stressed... it's made of water and vileness! I can't even say it's made of calories because it has none!

Gah. Today has been quite insanely busy and my fingers are apparently working independently of my brain. :P

That does make some sense, but still! There has to be better healthy food out there. Lentils and pulses! Spinach! But celery??

Oh Christ no, that's fucking horrible stuff. People insist on polluting perfectly good cheese sandwiches with it, too.

I don't know what I was expecting really. Maybe for it not to taste of anything at all, like lettuce? Certainly not to taste of MING.

I've learned to love some things that are bitter and/or stinky, like black coffee and goat's cheese. But even celery's mother doesn't love it.
