in realising i'd forgotten...

there's still four months of 2002 to run through. so, before i forget again...

September was another of those months where plenty of stuff happened. At the beginning of the month (or possibly the end of the previous one), we bought a new computer to replace my mother's crappy old one, and were once again a two-computer household. A one-PC-household is NOT a happy one. Anyway, the new computer had a CD-RW, and hence, I was required to copy a lot of CDs with it... The Buffy obsession continued to grow at an alarming rate, but that shouldn't really surprise me...

Meanwhile, my computer started to frell itself, deleting the entire 18 chapters of "Cradle" that I'd written in the process. Luckily, it's fixed now ;)

On the 7th, disaster struck. The news came of the cancellation of Farscape... and I was annoyingly non-upset about the whole thing, presumably because I was happily falling into Buffydom at the time. Or maybe, as I suspected at the time, I'd had so much disappointment that year already in the form of Cats, and so much in previous years - the disappointing of the fans in Voyager, the casting of Antonio Banderas in the Phantom movie, etc - that my brain couldn't cope with any more. There'll be a rant forthcoming at some point about how everything I love gets screwed over in one way or another, but I won't clog this up... As I write this, of course, there are but two episodes to go. Now, I'm beginning to feel the strain and the worry and the deep sadness over the loss of such a wonderful show, but I guess it's way too late now, right?

The 9th was the one year anniversary of my cat's death. So very much a month of loss. (That's one of my favourite entries of the month, incidentally...)

On the 10th, I scanned a few of the holiday photos, and I'd link to them except I had to take them off villagephotos and the links are now redundant... I'll get them on my site along with the Sunset ones at some point... And the 16th was my one-year LiveJournal anniversary!

Meh, September was a busy month... on the 20th, I fell out with Rachel, and we all know how that's developed since. I guess that was just the coming-to-a-head of all the changes that have happened in all of our lives, and the ever-growing separation from my old friends to compensate for the growing closer to new ones...

On the plus side, I spent a wonderful evening at Symphony Hall watching the 1928 Phantom of the Opera silent movie with an original, live organ accompaniment. It was completely, utterly beautiful. I only hope they do more. Nosferatu would be fantastic...

Okay, September's being an entry all it's own, because there's still more to come. Never mind...

The 23rd was the earth tremor, which caused Naomi and I much puzzlement whilst still online at ten to one in the morning. I recall coming to sit down again and she said "Becca, why did my house just shake?" It was a very, very bizarre experience, and it was actually a bigger quake than the one I felt in Kefalonia, and that's on a bloody fault line! Scary...

While all of this was going on, of course, I was getting increasingly more terrified about the upcoming journey to Manchester to see Sunset again, when there was a very real possibility that I might get to meet Jeremy Finch, and, not only that, it guaranteed to be a completely fantastic night, and Fate was bound to conspire against me in some way. I was paranoid that either Faith or Jeremy might not make it to the show and it would be ruined. At least my fears were short-lived. So, of course, the 28th was the show. And the writeup of said show can now be found on my site, right here along with the photos...
