blah. bored.

okay. i saw "beauty and the beast" tonight and a full lowdown/rant/ramble/etc will be here tomorrow or whenever i can be bothered... in short, it was good, very very like the disney film, good sets, good makeup/costumes, but rather like a pantomime. and the beast was frighteningly camp...

anyhoo. am bored, so here's a quiz... you're meant to add your own question to the end but i won't hold y'all to that ;) enjoy...

1. IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE, WHERE WOULD IT BE? hmm... either on a cliff overlooking the sea (west coast so there's lots of sunsets :D) or... in a remote field on the edge of a little village. i've never really thought about that, to be honest... i've always focussed more on what the house itself would be like rather than where i'd build it...

2. WHAT'S THE MOST MEMORABLE THING YOU HAVE READ? um... "perfect moment", which eve wrote for me, simply because she didn't have to and i adored it. several books nobody's heard of...

3. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING? i only get one?? black cords because they're comfy, my NBC teeshirt (which reads "bone daddy" on it) because it's getting all faded and grey from overwearing it, black mesh top because it's useful...

4. FAVOURITE PHYSICAL FEATURE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX? i suppose eyes. unless it's james marsters, in which case, cheekbones ;)

5. WHAT'S THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT? scarily enough, i can't remember... possibly "sunset boulevard" although i'm SURE there was something after that...

6. WHERE'S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE? asleep, or in my head.

7. WHERE'S YOUR LEAST FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE? the real world...

8. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE MASSAGED? never had the pleasure...

9. WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT, STRONG IN MIND OR STRONG IN BODY? it depends on the situation. having a stong mind wouldn't really help you when confronted by a fifty ton tank coming straight at you... but i'd say mind...

10. WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE IN THE MORNING? there's a morning for waking up in now?

11. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE TV SHOW? um... oh, come on, we'll be here all bloody night...

12. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE KITCHEN APPLIANCE? the microwave's useful... or the kettle. but then again, the fridge is kinda essential...

13. WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE CHILDHOOD MEMORY? it changes depending on when nostalgia hits me... recently i've been remembering when my dad used to take me down to the reservoir in dudley near his old house, and there used to be a spring and lots of big rocks... i keep meaning to ask him to take me back there, actually, to see if i can get up the one rock i could never manage now...

14. WHAT MAKES YOU ANGRY? people. well, stupid people, to be precise.

15. IF YOU COULD PLAY ANY INSTRUMENT WHAT WOULD IT BE? the piano, properly (or at least like i used to be able to) but other than that, i always wanted to play the flute. something horribly complicated, i suppose... my mum can play the pianoaccordion :)

16. WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE RESTAURANT/CAFE/EATERY? restaurant - anything that serves steak, but if we're talking proper restaurants... i have no idea. i'm poor.

17. SCARIEST MOMENT OF YOUR LIFE? exam results at a-level... and singing solo, even though it was only two words at the beginning of each of the four verses of the carol we did in the first quartet performance. that and auditioning...

18. WHAT IF THERE WAS A MOVIE MADE ABOUT YOU, WHAT HOLLYWOOD STAR WOULD YOU LIKE TO PLAY YOU? bloody hell. no clue... maybe christina ricci...

19. DO YOU BELIEVE IN AN AFTERLIFE? sure, why not? i believe in ghosts, so that's a sort of afterlife...

20. FAVORITE CHILDREN'S BOOK? "the howen" by roger stevens (see, nobody's heard of it...) but if we're talking popular, um... "the naughtiest girl in the school" books by enid blyton...

21. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SEASON? summer for thunderstorms (it's because i'm a writer. we have this thing about thunder.) and winter because it snows and rains a lot :D

23. IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? JUST ONE: the ability to fly.

25. CAN YOU JUGGLE? sorta... okay, no...

26. THE SONG YOU WISH YOU HAD WRITTEN? that's an interesting one. lemme get back to you on that...

27. THE ONE PERSON FROM YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO: my grandfather. we were always on more or less the same wavelength. i sometimes think he was about the only sane one left in the family; ironic, then, that he suffered from alzheimer's and became the crazy one. (i can't say i blame him, though...)

28. WHICH DO YOU PREFER: CAT or DOGS? caaaaaats.

29.WHATS's IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR? if i had a car, the boot (british, here...) would no doubt be full of completely useless junk.

34. WHAT ONE WORD WOULD DESCRIBES YOU BEST? currently, knackered. but normally... uh... head-frelled.

35. SAY ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU? dyl keeps the beeb farscape board interesting...

36. WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE SUPERHERO? buffy. or aeryn. okay, seriously, um... catwoman?

37. IF YOU COULD BE ANYTHING RIGHT NOW WHAT WOULD IT BE? right now? asleep... but, career-wise, what i always want to be (and blame this on the fact i've just been to see a show) - on the stage.

38. HAVE YOU EVER BEEN IN LOVE? HOW MANY TIMES? yes. or rather, as i now know and rather cautiously admit, infatuated. *counts* at least six times all with fictional people. (what, you want a list? okay, but don't laugh at me... in no particular order except maybe chronological if you're lucky - erik [the phantom], frank n furter [everyone does for about a week after seeing the show for the first time, trust me...], niles crane [yeah, you all knew that], jonathan creek [very sporadically, depending on how rampant my "aw, he's adorable!" complex is], a'nrek selin [don't ask. a character i made up for a fic. damn imagination.], spike [well...] and joe gillis, but that's entirely jeremy finch's fault. my entire SB obsession is his fault... :P

if we're including actual people... uh... graham norton. and i'm gonna go hide under a rock now...

anyhoo. currently very much in lust with spike and damn proud of it :D

39. ONE MISTAKE YOU MADE IN YOUR PAST YOU WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND REDO OVER? there's too many...

54. WHAT'S THE WORST THING ANYONE HAS EVER SAID ABOUT YOU BEHIND YOUR BACK THAT YOU FOUND OUT ABOUT? someone spread some rumours once in year 9. one of them was that i was afraid of karenjit because i thought she was gay, (she was told this, too, and spent the rest of the day pretending to come on to me. far from being scared i was getting increasingly more irritated and we ended up having a slanging match across the hockey field... it takes a lot for me to actually do that in public) another was that i'd spent the night with some guy. gee, that's original. nevertheless, it was around my entire year within two days...

55. IF THERE WERE ONE THING THAT SOMEONE COULD DO TO YOU THAT WOULD ABSOLUTELY UNFORGIVABLE, WHAT WOULD IT BE? gain my trust and then smash it. i've had that happen too many times.

56. 57. IF YOU WERE GONNA HAVE A MUSIC CAREER, WHAT WOULD IT BE FOR (ROCK, R&B, RAP, etc.) AND WHAT WOULD YOU BE? my music career would be on the stage in a broadway show (note to self, find the lyrics to "broadway baby" and add to me-songs list...) starting in the smaller parts and working up to the big ones. either that or i'd be the sweet-singing vocalist of a heavy rock band...

a layouting i will go...

okay, so, much as i like the sunset boulevard theme, i feel like a change of scene, so a new layout/colour scheme will be emerging soon, possibly vaguely parisian (but not moulin rouge)

anyway.

today i got dragged to bourton-on-the-water (it's a little village in the cotswolds, near evesham, sorta south of chipping camden if anyone knows that...) with my father and grandmother on a 'day trip'. we'd originally planned to go to stonehenge, but, since "that's all there is there" (i really, highly doubt this. it's a major tourist attraction, for frell's sake, there's got to be something else...) they finally got me to b-o-t-w. my gran is obsessed with the damn place because it has a model village and she's been pestering me about it for the past 3 frelling years. maybe she'll shut up about it now, but it's unlikely.

anyway, i was functioning on about 4 hours sleep, and i was mildly irritated that we weren't going to stonehenge (i suspect this is because it was too far away) and if i'd known sooner i would have suggested warwick castle or somewhere equally interesting and haunted. but then again, i really couldn't be bothered to argue, so b-o-t-w it was.

well, it was pleasant. and at least the weather stayed relatively nice until about 5 o'clock when we got caught in a thunderstorm that followed us home. (forked lightning over the hills! whee!) and the model village, disturbingly, contains a model of the model village containing another model of the model village... someone has too much time on their hands, i feel. there was also a maze, which we got hopelessly lost in for about half an hour until we found the one path we hadn't tried yet. they're really that much more difficult in real life...

but other than that it wasn't particularly amazing. however, the buffy muses were in full chattering mode today (beginning to think they're spike and... possibly giles. meep. spike doesn't surprise me, to be honest. i've had "rest in peace" in my head all bloody morning...) and kept throwing random ideas at me. i now have the full blown angsty penultimate/fight scene of the fic all sorted out and i can't wait to write it :D

and my mother has just run out in a mad dash to meet a man she met online and readily admits that she's crazy... and i'm worried as hell. :-/

blah. that's all. keep a look out for the new layout.
