CDs and DVDs and shoes, oh my!

so, i went out shopping today for various things i needed, and lots of things i didn't. since my father was nice enough to be unoriginal and send me £50 for my birthday, i thought i might as well spend it... so, after picking up the other inhaler from boots that i'd forgotten about, i went to sainsbury's to get essentials like milk and eggs and tuna (it's part of my staple diet, you know...) and then decided to go on a shoe hunt...

see, i need work shoes. my old black wedge Nice Shoes rub me to high heaven and the others are backless, so off i went to the factory shoe store - i got some shoes for £12.00. go me! then i went off hunting for a black, cotton, plain t-shirt, to later turn into the kittenspikeshirt. and could i find one? no, of course i couldn't...

of course, it would help if primark didn't look like a bloody jumble sale, and i hadn't gotten rained on while making my way to matalan - by the time i got there, i was in no mood to fight through the sale racks in the hope of getting lucky...

therefore, it's merely a testimony to my utter me-ness that i went out to look for clothes, and came back with a bagful of stuff from HMV... jesus christ, the DVDs... so many on sale. i nearly bought the whole shop. i nearly, in fact, bought myself a new copy of the BFG, one of my childhood random favourites, but i put it back in lieu of item 3... i came out with (all on sale...)

1) sunset boulevard collector's edition DVD, £.7.99. philistines. not that i'm complaining, though, because, hello, cheap DVD... also, amazon lied. the british release does have the original morgue opening screenplay... so i can erase that from my amazon wish list.
2) my fair lady on DVD, £9.99 because i have no idea where my home-taped copy went... although i think i might have uncovered it during the room move. be interesting to have it on DVD, anyway. i'll get all of them eventually, even if i have recently bought all the digitally-enhanced videos.
3) farscape DVDs Season 2 set 2, £12.99. they're all on sale at the moment except season 4 and the limited edition season 3 sets (obviously) so go and buy them!
4) amélie soundtrack, £6.99. they didn't have the film on DVD, but i think it would have been full price anyway. it's all gorgeous and french! i'm going through a rather parisian phase at the moment, as Collapse ) demonstrates. it's my new poster, and the scanned atget prints, and some of the pictures i took in paris... yay paris! want amélie on DVD!

5) beauty and the beast OLC recording, £5.99. it was hideously expensive at the show, and has nice songs in it.

i nearly bought run, lola, run but may just concede defeat and buy the video off amazon for £4.99, since the DVD is still full price at £19.99.

i love you, HMV...

also bought 5 peacock feathers from serene crafts for £1.00, having been toying with the idea for a while now. i think they're meant to be bad luck. never mind...

anyway, that's what i came back with. i'll buy trainers when i'm in birmingham with shelleys... they're cheaper than the ones they have in raw, which is about the most interesting shoe shop here...

so, anyway, i have all of that ^ to watch, as well as cabaret off frightened and things my girlfriend and i have argued about off falling_softly and the buffy season 7 novellisation, chosen, courtesy of doec, to read, as well as uni stuff... hm, maybe i'll take the ...argued... book to read on the bus to work tonight.

that's everything. yay DVDs! yay CDs!
