big fish.

oh. my. lord. sorry, naomi, i caved. you hereby have permission to see it before you visit, or see it first when you do, or we can see 'peter pan' or something or just see it again...

remember how much planet of the apes (the 're-imagining') was... below par, shall we say? remember how gorgeous sleepy hollow and edward scissorhands were? well, combine the visuals of both of those, a completely fantastic danny elfman soundtrack, one of the best running metaphors i've seen for a while, stunning direction, and, well, everything that makes a tim burton movie a tim burton movie, and you have big fish.

people, you have to see this movie! mr. burton is back on form, and it's wonderful! and i can't wait for willy wonka...

on another note, i saw signs on saturday night; as usual in an m. night shayamalan film, it's slow to start, but the ending's fantastic, and everything insignificant makes sense at the end. and that one made me cry, too...

watched girl, interrupted this evening, too, since my mum hadn't seen it. i forgot how fantastic that was...
