You remember a while ago I mentioned we had a phantom typist? Well... you know, I'm really starting to wonder.
Example the First: It's Sunday night. I have instructed that the Skybox will be mine for the four-hour period between the hours of 8.00 and midnight, in order that I can watch Most Haunted Live and the preceding Access All Areas. I agree to watch it upstairs because David has brought us a widescreen television that's been in his garage for ages (he lives with his parents so all of his stuff is either in storage or in the garage...) so I have stolen the 24" from downstairs. It dominates the room, but anyway. I agree to watch MHL upstairs because I have a big screen upon which to do so.
So. They decide to watch a DVD. At about 8.10 or thereabouts, I am happily watching MHLAAA, and Julian Clegg is interviewing Yvette before the question-and-answer session with the audience. Suddenly, the channel changes from Living TV 2 to BBC Three (i.e. ch114 to ch115 - up a channel.) I sit staring at the screen in momentary shock for about 30 seconds to a minute, and then head downstairs to change it back and kick me some arse.
I go down to find that they are already watching a DVD, and the remote control has been sitting on the coffee-table, out of sitting-on and touching reach, for about ten minutes.
Later on, I theorise the following: David accidentally hit the channel-up button instead of the volume (the Sky remote can be used to control the television as well), and since they were watching a DVD, the volume-control indicator wouldn't appear on-screen because of the SCART connection. But then my mother states that isn't possible because a) they hadn't touched it for a good five minutes before I came down and b) he'd've pressed it more than once, and the Skybox only went up one channel.
Example the Second:
My mother recounts to me this evening her half-waking dream from this morning, in which Misto had returned (the cat that disappeared two summers ago), and she could 'hear' him climbing around the bed, etc... and then another section where someone was telling her he needed to be put down, despite the fact that he'd just come back. And then, when she was completely awake, she could feel someone holding her hand (and, hey, it wasn't me, because I was asleep on a different floor), and then moved her hand, and thought, "Oh... shit..." when she realised.
It's all getting quite odd. And things keep disappearing and, like, falling over, when they're perfectly stable and have been for months.
I think we have a ghost... :/
