General health update

Even though I'm certain nobody cares about my general health, here is an update anyway. Mostly for my own benefit so I can keep track of things. I never got around to keeping the food diary but as it turns out, I didn't have to...

I made my third smoothie on Tuesday night to take for dessert, which included: half a banana, an orange, handfuls of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries and a couple of teaspoons of pomegranate, with about a glass of apple juice. I had to sieve out the bits of seed and blueberry skin, but it was nevertheless very nice. Quite tangy and a pleasing dark pink in colour. ;)

Next on my list of Things To Try is asparagus, which is in a pack of mixed veg in the fridge...

I've been catching a lot of that Freaky Eaters show on BBC3 recently - which just goes to show that my diet honestly isn't as bad as some of these people - and it's interesting to note that the majority of the time the dietician starts them off with fruit. I suspect - quite logically - that this is because fruit tastes nice. In my case, fruit would be my biggest stumbling block, because even though I like the taste of it, the texture trips me up every time.

Weird.

I also learnt from last night's programme that apparently children who have cleft palates tend to have eating problems throughout their life, which is very interesting. I have a slight cleft palate myself (even if I had never sucked my thumb, my teeth would never be straight for that reason, which is also why I suspect I was never given braces...) and it might actually explain a lot. I was also a stubborn only child who point blank refused to eat vegetables, so I suspect it's a combination of both. Unfortunately they didn't explain why children with cleft palates have eating problems, but yeah. Velly interrrresting...

Aaaaanyway. Lunchtime. Another busy weekend ahead, but at least I'm only in work for 2 days next week. :)

PS: Next week's Ashes to Ashes trailer: SQUEE! Also, I need to get this series on DVD and make an icon of Gene's face when he realised what type of club he was at. Hilarious. :D
