Hospital appointment was utterly pointless and a big waste of NHS time; the consultant echoed what we've all been saying when she stated, "I have no idea why your GP referred you." Yeah, same here. My asthma has been under control for the past 14 years, and unless they've instilled some new rules about Thou Must Only Take Thy Ventolin Once Per Millennium, I wouldn't call the usual twice-per-day (minimum; maximum four on days when I'm running around/stressed/ill) excessive usage, or any cause for concern. Quite strange, really. But anyway, she checked my breathing and blood pressure and stuff. The nurse weighed me and measured me and my BMI is apparently 26, whatever that means, but I'm sure I was just on the bottom line for 'slightly overweight', as I'm currently weighing in at 10st That's 2st more than I was at Uni. Paul McKenna, your diet had better work. I'll start it properly on Monday.
They also took some blood (again!) and now my elbow hurts. Plus, the sticky tape she secured the cotton wool with was evil and wouldn't come off, so I sat in the bathroom whimpering at it for about 10 minutes whilst tugging at it slowly. I frelling hate blood tests at the best of times, but that just made it worse.
I was meant to have my final counselling appointment this afternoon at 4.30. So I left work an hour after returning, at 3.45, thinking it would give me ample time to get there. Apparnetly not; I just missed the 3.45 101 bus and was then waiting 25 minutes for another one, then for some reason the traffic was stupid at Five Ways and along Hagley Road (surely, the Lancaster Circus tunnel work can't have caused this much chaos? The joy of getting the train this past week, I guess.), so I didn't even get to the bottom of Broad Street til 4.30, so I gave up and went home. I'm sure there wasn't that much more we could have talked about, really.
Tomorrow Paul and I are meant to be seeing The Producers, assuming the cinema listings on the website didn't lie to me, plus some killing time beforehand. I'm going to see if Skechers will swap my trainers for a size 4, and if not, buy some insoles... I cleaned the soles and they're really barely worn. But we'll see, anyway. The weekend I'll be spending at home, since my mother and I have series 2 of Hex to get through, and Paul's got a house party to go to which I'm really not up to right now.
Oh, that reminds me: metalmikey666, I probably won't be going to the Hill for your b'day drinks, because I hate it there on Friday nights, and because it's caused me nothing but pain and torment since we first discovered it... but if I do decide to go, it'll only be for a couple of drinks. In any case, I'll be sure to buy you a drink the next time I see you in lieu of not being there, if such is the case...
(I did warn you...)
