I didn't see Paul all evening due to the trains being poo as usual (I mean, seriously, how hard can be it be to run a train ON TIME? It's not like they have traffic or anything.) and rang him at about midnight to ask where the Hell he was, since he'd promised to be back 'not too late'. I've barely seen him all week, come to think of it. He was home late on Tuesday for the same reason, and we went to Jenny's on the 11 to feed/fuss her cats - for future reference, it takes 50 minutes to get to Erdington from Kings Heath on the 11. We didn't get back til 11.00, since we didn't leave until 8.00 due to more furniture being brought over, and I cooked a microwaveable curry and rice and we went to bed. I remember nothing after eating the curry. That's how tired I was.
So, also understandably exhausted yesterday as a result, hence the unprecedented napping when I got in. At one point during the day I thought I was going to pass out. By 3.00pm the fans were blasting out warm air, the fridge wasn't even making a difference to the bottled water, and the inside temperature was actually about 3 degrees more than outside. 40 celsius again, with a horrible humidity to boot.
It seems much cooler outside today, but the office is still horribly stuffy. Tina H has ordered us some desk fans, which might help, as at the moment we have one oscillating fan in the middle of the room that manages to spin itself gradually around in an anti-clockwise direction (so no matter which way you point it, it doesn't stay there) and one broken one pointed at my head... At least desk fans will be individual.
But at least I'm not sweating yet, so that's a good sign. Even Mitchum anti-perspirant cannot cope with the heatwave. I hate my body.
Right, I'd better do some work. Slowly, as my accumulated backlog is now dwindling.
