1. Reply to this post, and I will pick six of your icons.
2. Make a post (including the meme info) and talk about the icons I chose.
3. Other people can then comment to you and make their own posts.
4. This will create a never-ending cycle of icon squee. Whoo!
So, Eni chose the following:-
This is an interpretation, if you will, of an exceedingly silly Mitchell and Webb sketch in which David Mitchell plays a soup chef who loses his sense of smell and thus builds a robot to smell things for him. When such fails, he instead programmes the robot to smell either cheese or petrol. The robot keeps getting it wrong (he fills the car with cheese and also tries to set himself on fire with it). The silly spelling is my phonetic tribute to the robot's silly voice. I hate to admit it, but sometimes my sense of humour is not exactly discerning. :P
This was taken on last_dance's birthday many moons ago, at the Flapper and Firkin pub in Birmingham, and it's a winch or similar type of device on the canalside. I thought it was pretty, and it became an icon because I'd recently turned some other photographs into icons and thought it would be interesting.
Slowpoke forwarded some pictures around the email system at work aaages ago and this was one of them. There's a post somewhere on my LJ where I turned all the others into icons as well. Search the "icons & lj stuff" tag...
One of a couple of Nightmare Before Christmas icons I made for an ex-LJ friend a few years ago (back during the Most Haunted LJ add-athon...) I was supposed to make a set of Vincent icons but apparently found Jack Skellington more inspiring. ;) This is the tower of his house in the film, during the scene where he's experimenting to find out how Christmas is 'made', and I thought the Romeo and Juliet quote seemed apt, as at that point Sally is locked in her room staring out at the tower...
(I keep meaning to fix the borders on that one...) An homage to my days of Star Trek Mary Sueism. When I first discovered 24-hour internet access and that Other People Wrote Fanfic, doec and I started writing ourselves into our fanfics (or "scripts", as they were) as a couple of trouble-makers. I then met Traci, (a.k.a. my Mini-Me because we had scary amounts in common) and she joined in. Our characters were thus:
Lieutenant Marissa Blake - Terran (human) - the most sensible of the three.
Ensign (later Lieutenant) Kat-Doec (Trill) - a crazy, 20th-century-loving coffee fiend, adjusting to becoming Doec's latest host (unplanned); and
Ensign T'eyla Minh (Bajoran) - wants to be bad-ass but just has a bad attitude and is (obviously) angst-ridden.
I made the icon in a fit of nostalgia, though the dolls depicted therein are quite old...
This came out of an e-mail tennis with Paul at work, though I can't remember the exact details. When I'm bored I start punning (badly) and that's probably all there is to it.
You don't have to take part if you don't want to...
I might do a lyrics meme later, though probably not for a bit as the PC just did its Angry Beeping of Doom again and I don't want to aggravate it... ;)
